Amy questioned:
I started antibiotics last night for bacterial vaginosis. I occasionally had burning AFTER i went pee but not very often. Right now i just went to the bathroom and its burning more than it ever has! Is this normal?
I was just at Plotted Parenthood yesterday, and got a papsmear. I am currently taking metronidazole.

That sounds like a urinary tract infection. See a doctor as soon as you can; let it go too long and it can turn into a kidney infection (super painful). The doctor will give you an antibiotic if it is indeed an UTI.
It’s from the bacterial infection, not the antibiotic. It is very, very vital that you end all of the antibiotic without skipping any doses. Bacterial vaginosis can lead to major problems if left untreated, including sterility.
your bladder is likely infected as well =let Dr know if antibiotics you are taking are strong sufficient for both things
Most likely, you have developed a urinary tract infection as well. The antibiotics may help that, but you may also want to be sure to drink cranberry juice and eat plenty of yogurt, such as Activa, to help restore the proper and right bacteria to your bowel flora.
Most doctors office’s have answering services or sometimes hospital’s have urgent care where nurses are there to answer questions. To me it sounds like a possible UTI some of the S/S of UTI include buring when urinating, slight blood in urine, also sometimes it feels like a spasm and painful when you go to pee because you are not able to empty your bladder all the way. A UTI if left untreated can turn into kidney infection and you don’t want that to happen. I would try mission a place that has someone on call and you can let them know your symptoms and get treated with the right medication for the right infection. Excellent luck I know it can be painful but remember to follow the instructions on the medication.
