lolligagg questioned: At the gyno. yesterday my doctor said I had BV and gave me some Clindeese. It was a one time use cream (applicator)…There were no instructions on how long to leave it on…or how long it would take to work. From the research I’ve done I’m under the impression it takes weeks of continual usage with the cream for the infection to clear up…but my doctor gave me only one box (one applicator/one time use)…What can I expect after using the cream yesterday…when can I wash it out, and can I expect the infection to be cured?

Erin questioned: I was just diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis (bv) and am on antibiotics (metrogel) for treatment. I know that antibiotics can cause other problems and even lead to other infections like yeast infections afterwards- the doctor did not give me anything to take for yeast afterwards. I was wondering if anyone has taken treatment for bv and successfully avoideded a yeast infection afterwards or if i am doomed to have one.

Jenny R questioned: but i always find metronidazole does not agree with me at all and i dont really like taking antibiotics anyway. so i bought Clearblue Activgel from the internet. Its a vaginal gel that you insert every night for 7 days and it is meant to restore the vaginas pH to normal and hopefully getting rid of the BV. im nearly finished the course and I have noticed the symptoms seem to have gone. Has anyone else tried this, and do you reckon it is safe not to take the antibiotics???

When I question my doctor he said I take to many baths and that BV is only establish in women. Also I become dry when we have sex and it causes my boyfriend to get this scab on his penis. We both had a STD screening and we both got (-) results. Can someone tell me what’s going on.

Djoana Maye D questioned:
i have this for 9 months now and i plotting it’s not a huge deal since i come across about BV in the internet and feared it was really terrible since i am pregnant in my third trimester! it worries me so much! i have not consulted a doctor since i plotting that it just a simple discharge that can be cured with lactacyd or any feminine wash. im so worried that this might affect my baby’s development as well as his brain. can i still cure BV in my third trimester? would it have any complications? im searching for any herbal remedies, can anyone recommend the best way to handle it? do i really need to see a doctor for this since i do not experience any other symptoms except my discharge is milky and have a very foul odor, though its not painful to urinate and the like..
